IPA Website & Member Portal Terms of Use
Effective Date: 07/21/26
These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the Independent Pilots Association’s website, member portal, intranet, mobile-accessible services, digital tools, and related online resources, collectively referred to as the “IPA Site.”
By accessing or using the IPA Site, you agree to follow these Terms of Use, applicable IPA policies, and any additional rules or notices posted within the IPA Site. Access to member-only areas is provided as a benefit of IPA membership and may be limited, modified, suspended, or revoked in accordance with IPA policy.
- Purpose of the IPA Site
The IPA Site is provided to support communication, education, representation, and administrative functions for IPA members. The Site may include union news, contract resources, scheduling information, committee materials, forms, notices, member preferences, and other resources intended to assist IPA members and authorized users.
Information posted on the IPA Site is provided for general informational purposes. Unless expressly stated otherwise, the Site does not replace the collective bargaining agreement, IPA governing documents, official grievance procedures, or formal communications from the Executive Board or other authorized IPA representatives.
- Member Access and Account Security
Certain portions of the IPA Site are restricted to IPA members, staff, representatives, or other authorized users. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree not to share your password, allow unauthorized access to member-only content, or use another person’s account. If you believe your account has been compromised, you should notify IPA promptly at [Insert Contact Email].
- Availability of the Site
IPA intends to maintain reliable access to the IPA Site, but uninterrupted access is not guaranteed. The Site may be unavailable from time to time due to maintenance, technical issues, security concerns, upgrades, or circumstances outside IPA’s control.
IPA may attempt to provide advance notice of planned maintenance when practical, but it is not obligated to do so.
- Appropriate Use
Users may not use the IPA Site in a way that interferes with Site operations, compromises security, violates the rights of others, or is inconsistent with IPA policies. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
- Attempting to gain unauthorized access to systems, files, accounts, or member information;
- Sharing restricted or confidential IPA materials with unauthorized individuals;
- Uploading malicious code, harmful files, or disruptive content;
- Misrepresenting your identity or affiliation;
- Using the Site for commercial solicitation, political activity unrelated to IPA business, harassment, or unlawful purposes;
- Copying, scraping, bulk-downloading, or redistributing Site content without authorization.
IPA may remove content, restrict access, or take other action when it determines that use of the Site is inconsistent with these Terms or IPA policy.
- Member-Only and Confidential Information
The IPA Site may contain confidential, sensitive, privileged, or member-only information. Such information is intended only for authorized users and may not be copied, forwarded, posted, published, or otherwise disclosed outside the intended audience unless authorized by IPA.
This includes, but is not limited to, internal communications, bargaining updates, grievance-related materials, committee documents, legal updates, strategy materials, and member-specific information.
- Accuracy of Information
IPA works to keep information on the IPA Site accurate and current. However, the Site may contain typographical errors, outdated information, incomplete content, or technical inaccuracies.
Official contract language, governing documents, written agreements, and formal notices control over summaries, website explanations, training materials, FAQs, or informal guidance. Members with specific contractual, disciplinary, medical, safety, scheduling, or legal concerns should contact the appropriate IPA representative or department.
- Links to Third-Party Websites
The IPA Site may include links to websites, platforms, services, or documents maintained by third parties. These links are provided for convenience or reference only.
IPA does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, security, privacy practices, or policies. A link to an outside site does not mean IPA endorses that site, its operator, or its content.
- Email, Text Messages, Forms, and Online Communications
The IPA Site may allow users to submit forms, send messages, update preferences, register for events, or communicate electronically with IPA. While IPA takes reasonable steps to protect communications, electronic communications may not always be secure.
Members should use care when submitting sensitive information online or by email. IPA may use email, text message, portal notices, or other electronic methods to communicate with members, subject to member preferences and applicable law.
- Cookies and Similar Technologies
The IPA Site may use cookies or similar technologies to support login sessions, security, user preferences, analytics, and Site functionality. Some portions of the Site may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
Additional information about IPA’s use of cookies and data is available in the IPA Privacy Policy.
- Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise noted, content on the IPA Site is owned by or licensed to IPA. This includes text, graphics, logos, documents, videos, forms, design elements, and other materials.
Authorized users may access and use IPA materials for legitimate IPA-related and member-related purposes. Any other reproduction, publication, distribution, modification, or commercial use requires prior authorization from IPA.
- No Warranty
The IPA Site and its content are provided on an “as available” basis. IPA does not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, free of harmful components, or suitable for every user’s particular purpose.
IPA may update, modify, suspend, or remove Site content or features at any time.
- Limitation of Responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, IPA is not responsible for damages arising from use of, inability to use, or reliance on the IPA Site, including technical issues, third-party links, transmission errors, unauthorized access, or loss of data.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to limit rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
- Changes to These Terms
IPA may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on the IPA Site with a revised effective date. Continued use of the IPA Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms.
