- To promote global
aviation safety and security and encourage continued economic growth
for the aviation industry.
“Great achievements and accomplishments involve the cooperation of
many minds.” Those words written by Alexander Graham Bell describe
the birth of telecommunications, but since 9/11, those words seem to
represent a blueprint for restoring safety and security to air
travel. The aviation community faces an enormous challenge in
restoring a safe and secure aviation environment. It will take the
best minds from Government, Industry and Labor working together to
achieve success.
The Independent Pilots Association (IPA) Government Affairs
Committee exists not only to represent the interests of the 2800
pilots who fly for United Parcel Service, but to secure the safety
of the traveling public. Our work involves providing expert
knowledge to Government officials to promote aviation safety and
security. We are also a member of The Coalition of Airline Pilots
Associations (CAPA). CAPA is a group representing five different
pilot associations whose purpose is to address safety and regulatory
issues affecting professional airline pilots.

Government Affairs Committee, please feel free to contact Lee Collins at
